Common Questions, Honest Answers

Everything you need to know about business jet maintenance, inspections, and average pricing — straight from our team of FAA-certified technicians.

Inspections & Scheduled Maintenance

Phase inspections are the primary scheduled maintenance program for most business jets (Falcon, Learjet, Hawker, etc.). They are divided into phases (1 through 4 or 5 depending on the aircraft), each covering specific systems. On average, each phase occurs every 200–400 flight hours, and a full cycle completes roughly every 800–1,600 hours. All phases together equal a complete structural and systems inspection of the aircraft.

A C-Check (also called a Heavy Maintenance Visit or HMV) is a deep-dive structural and systems inspection typically required every 4–6 years or 6,000–10,000 flight hours, depending on the aircraft type. Unlike Phase inspections (which are done in segments), a C-Check takes the aircraft fully offline for 2–6 weeks and involves extensive disassembly, corrosion treatment, structural checks, and overhaul of major components.

Timeframes vary by inspection type:

  • Annual / 100-Hour: 5–10 business days
  • Single Phase (1–5): 7–14 business days
  • Full Phase Cycle: 3–5 weeks
  • C-Check / Heavy: 4–8 weeks

These estimates assume no major discrepancies. AOG squawks discovered during inspection can extend timelines.

Yes. The Dassault Falcon 50, 900, 900EX, 2000, and 2000EX are among our primary aircraft types. Our technicians are deeply familiar with the Falcon's trijet and twin-engine architecture, Honeywell TFE731 and CFE738 powerplants, and Dassault-specific inspection programs. We handle Phase 1 through 5, C-Checks, and unscheduled maintenance for the entire Falcon family.

Pricing & Cost Estimates

Average Phase Inspection pricing for mid-size and super-mid business jets:

Learjet 45 / 60 $18,000 – $35,000 / phase
Hawker 800 / 900 $22,000 – $40,000 / phase
Falcon 2000 $30,000 – $55,000 / phase
Falcon 900 $35,000 – $65,000 / phase
Gulfstream G4 / G5 $40,000 – $80,000 / phase
Challenger 604 $35,000 – $70,000 / phase

Prebuy inspections for business jets typically range from $8,000 to $25,000+ depending on aircraft size and complexity:

  • Light / Mid-size jets (Learjet, Citation X): $8,000 – $15,000
  • Super-mid jets (Falcon 2000, Hawker 900): $12,000 – $22,000
  • Large cabin (Falcon 900, G550): $18,000 – $30,000+

This typically includes records review, full airframe inspection, engine borescope, and a detailed discrepancy report. This is one of the best investments you can make before purchasing an aircraft.

Starlink Aviation installations on business jets typically range from $25,000 to $75,000+ depending on the aircraft and integration complexity:

  • Hardware (Starlink terminal + components): ~$15,000 – $25,000
  • Installation labor & STC compliance: $10,000 – $30,000
  • Avionics integration (if required): $5,000 – $20,000+

Monthly service plans from SpaceX typically run $12,500 – $25,000/month for aviation-grade connectivity. Contact us for a custom installation quote for your specific aircraft.

Avionics upgrade pricing varies significantly by system:

ADS-B Out (basic) $10,000 – $25,000
WAAS / LPV Approach $15,000 – $40,000
FMS Upgrade $50,000 – $150,000+
TCAS II Upgrade $20,000 – $60,000
Weather Radar $25,000 – $80,000
Full Glass Cockpit $200,000 – $500,000+

* All upgrades require STC approval and FAA sign-off. Pricing includes installation and certification.
